Mid-Week Encouragement 09.02.2026

“Now it came to pass after these things that God tested Abraham, and said to him, ‘Abraham!’

And he said, ‘Here I am.’

Then He said, ‘Take now your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you.’”

Genesis 22:1-2

When we read Genesis 22, it's easy to focus on Abraham's remarkable obedience. But that obedience didn't happen overnight. Throughout his journey, Abraham experienced both victories and failures, and in each season, God faithfully revealed more of Himself. He came to know God as his Lord, his Shield, the Covenant Maker, the God who sees, God Almighty, and the faithful Promise Keeper. Over time, those encounters shaped Abraham's faith and prepared him to trust God when the greatest test came.
