Joshua 4:5–7
“And Joshua said to them: ‘Cross over before the ark of the Lord your God into the midst of the Jordan, and each one of you take up a stone on his shoulder, according to the number of the tribes of the children of Israel, that this may be a sign among you when your children ask in time to come, saying, “What do these stones mean to you?” Then you shall answer them that the waters of the Jordan were cut off before the ark of the covenant of the Lord; when it crossed over the Jordan, the waters of the Jordan were cut off. And these stones shall be for a memorial to the children of Israel forever.’”
As God led His people into the Promised Land, He instructed them to build a memorial—not to forget where they had been or what He had done.
This is our reminder today: a new year is not an ending, but a turning of the page in God’s ongoing plan. We may carry some of the same trials forward, but we also carry the testimony of God’s faithfulness.
Like the stones taken from the river, we can remember what God brought us through in 2025—how He stood beside us, sustained us, and made a way. And we can look ahead with hope, trusting Him for where He is leading us next.
Remember all God has done—and all He is still bringing you into.
