Currituck Christmas Parade 2024
Good morning, Church Family!
We are NUMBER 5 in the parade lineup tonight! Set up will be right around the COA building. You can't miss us. Huge float with a nativity/barn scene hooked to a tractor with "New Life" banners on the side.
Parade Setup Team - please be at the float location no later than 5:30 p.m. for final setup and to bag candy into plastic Walmart bags. Don't forget to allow for time walking to the float.
Parade Walkers/Candy Givers (and those who are scheduled to ride on the float) - please be at the float location no later than 6:30 p.m. for prayer time and instructions. Please allow time for walking to the float. You cannot drive the parade route after 6 pm so be prepared to walk to and from the float. (There are other festivities that start at 6 pm in front of the YMCA building, so our best suggestion is to be parked at the YMCA around 5:30 to ensure a decent spot, check out the festivities in that parking lot, and then walk over to the COA building where the New Life float is by 6:30).
Parking - See the map. Our suggestion is if you're a walker or rider and NOT involved in the "take down" of the float, you could park in the YMCA parking lot and walk over to the COA building where the float is by 6:30 p.m. That's a long walk; however, at the end of the parade, we will briefly stop around the Animal Control/side entrance of Coop. From there, you can hop off the parade trail and be close to your car to leave.
If you're involved in the "take down" of the float or if you parked near COA and want to ride the float to get back to your car, you'll need to hop ON the float when we briefly stop. The float will drive around the back way (it's kind of a long, cold but FUN ride) back down Terminal and along the airport taxiway until we get back to the COA building where we started. From there, we can take down what we need to from the float and you'll be back near the COA parking.
It's going to be COLD so bundle up! What a blessing to meet and greet our community with smiles and a bag of candy and a warm "Merry Christmas" from New Life! Whether you can come or not, thank you for your support and prayers over this event. To our Parade Team, thank you for all your hard work to make this year's parade a success!
Please call/text Jenny or Buddy if you have any questions.
