Power Up

Power Up

A weekly encouragement to fuel your midweek. We pray this is an encouragement to you, and will strengthen you to encourage others with the love of God. Our mission verse is Romans 15:13, which says "Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." If you would like prayer or know more about power up drop us a note at We are praying for you

What are you thinking about?

"Search me, O God, and know my heart, try me and know my anxious thoughts." Psalm 139:23The writer of this Psalm was anxious about people around him and how they were talking bad about God, and it bothered him. It bothered him so much that he was beginning to hate them.  The Psalmist then catches himself thinking things he does not want to think about other people. Worse yet it was consuming his entire thought process, so much that he begins to think of ways to get back at people to make himself feel better. How much time and brain power today are you spending thinking about how to get back at someone else for what they said or did to you, a friend or yes even God? Today stop wasting time on something God already knows about, and will take care of in His own time. Pray, forgive and live is the motto to live by. Pray and let Jesus Christ handle the situation the way He wants to. Forgive others for what they have done, and forgive yourself for thinking and desiring others to feel the hurt you feel. Live in the freedom of forgiveness that only comes through a personal and daily relationship with Jesus Christ. When you live and practice this motto Jesus Christ will take care of it in the proper way and the proper time. May God bless you richly as you seek Jesus Christ in every part of your life.

Power Up

Politically Correct?

Welcome this week to power up, a weekly blog to encourage and strengthen your week. If we have encouraged you drop us a note, or if you are in need of prayer or want to know more about a Bible verse or have an idea for future power up's contact us at

How do you fight your battles in life?

"When I saw their fear, I rose and spoke to the nobles, the officials, and the rest of the people: "Do not be afraid of them; remember the Lord who is great and awesome, and fight for your brothers, your sons, your daughters, your wives, and your houses." "At whatever place you hear the sound of the trumpet, rally to us there. Our God will fight for us." Nehemiah 4:14, 20

So often today I believe we as believers in Jesus Christ have allowed ourselves to become politically correct. We say to be nice and kind the way Jesus wants us to be we just need not say anything at all. Our lives have become spiritually sterile. Yet there are people who really do not like our belief, or what we stand for. So we just let others influence us into becoming a coward. Today is the day for standing up and fighting for what we believe. But what does the fight look like, we think of fight or conquest today as total destruction, get people out of the way or destroy them. May I encourage you today to fight the right way. The first and foremost is battle preparation, have you prayed today??? The movie "War room" shows how this can work in our lives. Nehemiah knew through prayer that Jesus was great and awesome and that Jesus would fight for them. Daily pray for those in your family, Church and yes even those who come against you. Secondly find a Church, and become an active part of it. Rally around each other, encourage each other, stand up for one another. When the people come together for a common purpose they can accomplish a lot, by the power of God through Jesus Christ. We need each other. Today be ready to share your faith in Jesus Christ, and find others who share your belief and faith. Pray together and encourage each other.

21 Days of Prayer... day 21

Day 21

BE ENCOURAGED: That healing happens in community

"Awake, sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you and be subject to one another in the fear of Christ." Ephesians 5:14b, 21

I want to thank you personally for taking the time to seek God for these last 21 days. I pray you have seen God reveal Himself to you in some awesome ways. Today is what is known as Pentecost Sunday. It is the day we want to remind ourselves of the great gift God gave us through Jesus Christ. This gift is the  Holy Spirit. This last day we could spend talking about the role of the Holy Spirit in our lives and that might be a good thing to do, however I desire to tell you how the holy spirit is best realized in our lives. It is through loving and serving one another. Today pray about how you can start a daily habit of loving and serving others, not because we have to but because we long to, and enjoy it. May the Holy Spirit empower you today to begin.

Thanks again for taking this journey with us. If we have encouraged you in some way, will you encourage us? Write us at We are praying for you. Every Wednesday we also have an encouraging blog called POWER UP, designed to bring the love of God to you to power up your mid-week.

21 Days of Prayer... day 20

Day 20

"Awake, sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you, speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody with your heart to the Lord; always giving thanks for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God, even the Father." Ephesians 5:14b, 19-21

How bold are you today? Find someone to encourage and pray for today. It still is amazing to me how easy it is to be negative. We see it in the elections going on, we see it in marriage and family situations, we see it in Churches, Oh Yea go ahead and admit it, we see it in ourselves. OR DO WE? Throughout scripture God says that when we talk about the things He has done for us we are to sing praises. Well what if you carry a tune in a bucket? My friend there are many ways to not the praises of God. What about a psalm? There are a lot of those in Scripture, What about a testimony? There are plenty of those in Scripture as well. Today start a new trend, well it is actually not new, but it may need to be new to you. Start speaking the praises of God. If you do not have any then you may be focused on the wrong things. Talk to family or a friend from Church or work, and share with them what God has done, pray for them, and ask them what God had done for them. Write down what God has done and begin to say it over and over again. Don't stop do it over and over and over. I think you will find yourself with a different outlook on life and sense a greater joy for life.

21 Days of Prayer... day 19

Day 19

BE ENCOURAGED: to do some trading

"Awake, sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you. And do not get drunk with wine, for that is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit."      Ephesians 5:14b, 18

Have you ever trading something you owned for something of greater value? I think there was a television show about that one time. Today start doing this in a Spiritual sense. It is interesting the analogy that the Apostle Paul uses here. Don't get drunk with wine for that is excessive, over the top, way too much, but instead be filled with the holy Spirit. This alerts me today in knowing that I cannot have too much of the Holy Spirit, but I can have too much of the world around me. So trading something that I need to limit myself in for something that I don't need to limit myself in becomes very appealing to me, WHAT ABOUT YOU? While I do believe in fasting and make it a part of my life, this idea of trading can be done every day in every situation. The challenge is to think of the trade when the moment presents itself. Some trading is what I call on the spot trading. This trading is done when all of a sudden we have a revelation from Jesus Christ that something needs to be changed. Right then and there we trade a thought, feeling or decision of what we want to what God wants. Maybe a situation comes up where I want to say something to someone, but I know it would not be right so I either ask God to change what I want to say or I may not need to say anything at all. The other trading is more long term, this trading comes from scripture revealed to me for life changing purpose. (Refer to day 17) I desire to live a Holy Spirit inspired life by asking God to build in me Jesus Christ responses. Situation by situation, response by response over time brings healthy choices that grows my faith and confidence in Jesus Christ's love in my life.

Write down some on the spot trading you do today.

Write down some long term trading you do today.

Praise Jesus Christ for His love in your life
