21 Days of Prayer... day 7
BE ENCOURAGED: Start the day by putting your praise on, and write a new song today
"Praise the Lord, Sing to the Lord a new song, And His praise in the congregation of the godly ones." Psalm 149:1
Transformation is the most wonderful thing that God has designed through Jesus Christ. Even today there are some natural talents God has given to me that I enjoy. It brings great joy to know how something works and when it is old, tear it apart, clean it up and put it back together and watch it once again do what it was designed to do. One job in particular that always stands out to me, was a John Deere A, originally produced in the early 1950's. I took every nut and bolt apart and put it back together as brand new. Now I did not do this to put the tractor in the shed and just show it off on special occasions, but it became a tractor that was put to work for all kinds of jobs around the farm for which it was designed to do. God knows exactly what He created when He created you. He knew that sin would make you rusty and dirty and not work right. All of this sin would leave you powerless to do the very things you were created for. God's answer for your restoration and repowering was the death and resurrection of Jesus. Sometimes it is so hard because Jesus has to take us apart and clean up everything to make us work again. He needs to clean us and put new parts in us to make us work again. This restoration is to make something new again, and see it work the way it was originally designed. Our song about ourselves is tough sometimes. We say things about ourselves that are not true, because in the book of lamentations it says that God's mercy is new every morning. It goes on to say God's faithfulness through Jesus Christ is great. Today let God put a new set of words in your heart and mind. Words like God has forgiven me, because I have repented of my sins and asked Him for forgiveness. I can walk around today singing a new song of forgiveness.
What is keeping you from a new song today?
What area of your life needs transformation?
Do you have a mentor who can help you in the God transformation?

21 Days of Prayer... day 6
BE ENCOURAGED: Start today to put your praise on every morning as you are getting out of bed.
"I will bless the Lord at all times, His praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make its boast in the Lord, the humble shall hear it and rejoice. O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt His name together. Psalm 34:1-3
I know this sounds funny at times, but after 36 years of marriage I continue to be amazed at my wonderful wife. You never really know what is going to come out of her mouth at times, she carries a song in her heart all the time. We can be driving, walking or be out in the yard it does not matter, out of her mouth comes a song that is in her heart. It could be a current praise song she heard that day on the radio, or a hymn she learned years ago singing in her Church choir. The other day she started an older hymn and could not remember the words so I picked up and finished it for her, we simply looked at each other and started laughing. Later as we talked about it we realized how close we sensed Jesus was to us at that moment, and the closeness we enjoyed being together. We realized that this closeness is what keeps us fighting for each other, our marriage, children and grandchildren through prayer, and fighting for what God has spoken over our lives to serve others in the Church and in our community. We believe that many Christians are not receiving the healing and peace in their lives because they do not put their praise on. The small and large details of life all need to be put under the blood of Jesus Christ, and then we need to praise Him no matter the outcome. I wonder sometimes if this Psalm was similar to the one the Apostle Paul and Silas were singing in jail in Acts chapter 16, when all of the sudden their chains fell off and they were freed. Today start a daily regime of putting your praise on, and bring it to Church with you on Sunday as well and tell others you have it on.
What keeps you from putting your praise on?
What detail of life does Jesus want you to give Him, so He can give you praise to put on?
How can you encourage others by putting your praise on?

21 Days of Prayer... day 5
BE ENCOURAGED: Expected faith comes from listening to God and knowing that His timing is perfect. Part 3
"Now to Him who is able to do exceeding abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen." Ephesians 3:20-21
I am repeating the be encouraged statement for a reason. Many times we need to repeat the promises of God to learn how to hear from God and speak His words. My prayer is that you are beginning to get the idea that God does love you and care about every detail in your life. I still think it is amazing how we sometimes focus on the big words and not look at the details. Today's scripture is one of those that I hear all the time. We often focus on the exceedingly abundantly beyond part and sense a faith and confidence in the words the Apostle Paul wrote. Now I believe these words to be true, however I want to challenge you today to think of how you read this. This chapter talks about the working of God's grace, grace is the gift God gave you and I to serve others so they are encouraged and grow in the Lord. It tells us that we need to properly steward our gift, among all people. Paul writes in the last verse where all of this comes from. (IN CHURCH, IN CHRIST JESUS) This word "in" is a powerful word, it simply means a placed reached, where life comes from. You desire to see God in your life in an exceedingly abundant way according to the power of Jesus in you? Then you know where that comes from now, it comes from a personal relationship with Jesus and others in the community of the Church. Outside of that we are simply trying to do things on our own abilities. Get connected to Jesus Christ and the Church and you will be amazed at what God will do. It is a wonderful thing to rejoice with others in the Church as God answers prayers.
What keeps you from connecting with others in Church during the week?
What training do you desire to fulfill God's gift in your life?
Why are you not asking the Church for that training?

A weekly encouragement to fuel your midweek. We pray this is an encouragement to you, and will strengthen you to encourage others with the love of God. Our mission verse is Romans 15:13, which says "Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." If you would like prayer or know more about power up drop us a note at 1Godofhope@gmail.com We are praying for you
"I sought the Lord, and He answered me, and delivered me from all my fears." Psalm 34:4. Sometimes life has things that are very hard to deal with. Maybe going places where things bad have happened to you, or having memories that come back to you that bring fear. All of us at some point and time in life are gripped with fear. There is a way to overcome fear that many of us never think of or even want to try. It is one simple word, but is much harder to live by then say, that word is called trust. The writer of this Palm is trying to tell us where trust comes from. Who did the writer of the Psalm ask for help from? The writer said he sought the Lord and the Lord answered him. What we do not think about in this verse is where the removal of fear came from. Yes, you say is was from the Lord and you are right, but do not miss the removal of fear came from the answer. I remember trying to learn to ride a bike and my grandfather started running beside me all the while sharing words of encouragement to me. There came a point that I was riding faster than he could run but I could still hear his voice encouraging me to keep going. Somehow I knew that if I fell he could not be there in person to pick me up, but that did not matter because his voice kept me motivated to keep going. What are you going through today and are in fear of? Seek out the voice of the Lord Jesus Christ for the encouragement to keep going, The voice of the Lord will deliver you from your fears.

21 Days of Prayer... day 4
BE ENCOURAGED: Expected faith comes from listening to God and knowing that His timing is perfect. Part 2
"And this is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests which we have asked from Him. " 1 John 5:14-16
I don't know about you, but some people like to hear a person speak confidently and others are put off by it. It could be the person who speaks confidently is bragging about themselves and that does get old quick to some. Even when we talk about our faith in Jesus Christ people can be put off by it. Either they don't believe in Jesus or maybe they have not seen Jesus the way you do. Sometimes I think faith brings to much of the natural in it anyway. Let me explain, sometimes our faith is so small that we speak of faith as what we can do with our natural abilities. To some this still maybe amazing and we misguide or mislead people. This Scripture brings us to a place that we need to understand what John is trying to communicate with us. Now remember this is the person who Scripture tells us that he laid his head on the chest of Jesus. It is amazing to think John actually heard the very heart beat of Jesus, but ran away when Jesus was arrested. When John says here to have confidence, he does not mean in our words he means the words of Jesus. Jesus hears and acts on the words He has spoken, Jesus wants us to repeat His words not ours. That is why it says for us to ask according to His will, then whatever we ask, He hears and answers. Why? Because Jesus will not go back on His words. God promised to raise Jesus from the dead, before He even came to earth so when Jesus said the words not my will but yours be done, Jesus was repeating the words of God's promise to resurrect and heal. Today ask according to God's word and you will be amazed.
What have you been asking Jesus for that is just your own words?
What are God's promises toward you?
