Day Three - Statement of Intent - Purified By The Holy Spirit
Read Matthew 7:1-7
Scripture for the day
"Do not give what is holy to dogs, and do not throw your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces."
"To him who knocks it shall be opened." "knock, and it shall be opened to you"
Today I am sending you this challenge that I pray will encourage you to seek God in every part of your life. A difficult thing for us to accept is that God's promises come with difficult choices. This scripture is no different. We all want to ask, seek and knock yet so often we skip right by the verses just before where God says we need to compare our thoughts and motives to Him and not others. So today before thinking you have God open a door implement a purifying statement of intent.
Are you ready for God to open some doors for you in your life? Jesus says something very important in this verse. It is time for us to begin to see the Jesus that resides in us. This is not a thing of pride but a thing of humble blessing. To love and serve God is the greatest joy ever in this life. What happens is we gain freedom and understanding when we stop judging others and stop finding faults in others. (From Day One and Two) The challenge is that it lasts for a couple of days and then we find ourselves going right back to doing it all over again.
STOP - PRAY
As you are praying today take time to stop and ask God to reveal to you who He really is. He is loving, He is freedom, He is joy. He wants you to remember you are His love. You see when we go back to the old way of doing things it is like throwing His love away. Today find a church which has people who really love God and want the very best God has to offer through Jesus Christ. Then become passionate about your relationship with God and others. Seek God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength. Ask the Holy Spirit to fill your soul and you will be amazed at the doors God will open for you. Not what you want but what he wants as you live your best for Him. A purifying intent would look something like this.
Lord thanks for forgiving me and I desire to live to serve you by serving others. I ask you today to fill me with your Holy Spirit. I give the holy Spirit permission to change my mind, my will and my emotions to help me see others the way you see them.
I am praying for you today
