Day Two - Statement of Intent - Lord Find My Log

Read Matthew 7:1-7

Scripture for the day

"Why do you look at the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? "Or how can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' and behold, the log is in your own eye? "You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye." "seek, and you shall find" "he who seeks finds"

Today I am sending you this challenge that I pray will encourage you to seek God in every part of your life. A difficult thing for us to accept is that God's promises come with difficult choices. This scripture is no different. We all want to ask, seek and knock yet so often we skip right by the verses just before where God says we need to compare our thoughts and motives to Him and not others. So today before thinking you can seek God implement a no log statement of intent.

Finding the faults or specks in others is one or our greatest hindrances to seeking the will of God for our lives. We seem to be able to pick out every miss step, every word and action of others without even thinking about what I am doing or saying. We then go to God and try to seek His will for our lives and we wonder why we cannot hear from Him.

STOP - PRAY

As you are praying today simply ask God to reveal the logs which are in your eyes. Your eyes are the Spiritual pathway into your soul which is your mind, will and emotions. A log in the natural when in a body of water gets caught on all kinds of things on the shore and restricts the flow of water. So it goes with us When we judge others or find their faults and ignore our own we restrict the flow of the holy Spirit in our lives. Ask God to come and clear the pathway so the flow of His Holy Spirit can enter you and transform your mind, will and emotions. A logging intent would look something like this.

"Lord I repent for looking for specks in others please forgive me. Show me the logs I have and remove the fear of change in me that is restricting your Holy Spirit in my life. Thanks for your freedom to see others as you see them as I seek you for their best."

I am praying for you today
