21 Days of Prayer... day 18

Day 18

BE ENCOURAGED: to seek and know God's will for your life

"Awake, sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you. So then do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is." Ephesians 5:14b, 17

So many people ask me, "So how do I know the will of God." I am probably going to be an old fuddy duddy today in writing this. Call me old fashioned, out of touch or maybe something else, however if we desire to awaken the Holy Spirit within us, we will need to apply the scripture correctly, and hear God's heart for why it is important. Answer this question for me today, what does the word foolish mean to you? It simply means here in scripture to rein in or control our feelings that are produced by our natural senses. This word even describes what we use to do this, our mind, our thought process. Do we really want to know the will of God? Then we need to not make decisions based on our emotions, but on hearing from God. Spend time today quiet, without the noise of your electronic devices, without the noise of the negative talk that might be around you, or worse yet coming from within you. Yes, even put your feelings aside, and ask God to share His love with you. Be silent and listen. Do not be afraid of what you will hear.

Write down what you sense God is saying to you?

Sit down with a trusted friend and share what God said.

 2 Kings 16:15 (NAS)
Then King Ahaz commanded Urijah the priest, saying, "Upon the great altar burn the morning burnt offering and the evening meal offering and the king's burnt offering and his meal offering, with the burnt offering of all the people of the land and their meal offering and their drink offerings; and sprinkle on it all the blood of the burnt offering and all the blood of the sacrifice. But the bronze altar shall be for me to inquire I by."
